Lyme Disease + Co-Infections
- Lyme disease is a complex, multi-system illness caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi. It is most commonly transmitted by the bite of an infected black-legged tick, but there may be additional methods of transmission, including mother-to-fetus transmission. Lyme disease is difficult to diagnose and often complicated by co-infections and co-existing illnesses, making it one of the most misdiagnosed immune disorders.
- If caught early, conventional treatments for acute Lyme disease can be helpful; however, chronic Lyme disease often fails to respond to extended courses of antibiotics when whole-person treatment approaches are lacking. Nuances in treatment must be embraced in order to effectively treat co-infections such as Bartonella, Babesia, Anaplasma, Ehrlichia, Mycoplasma, and Rickettsia, as well as opportunistic infections such as Epstein-Barr virus and Candida. An individualized approach to Lyme disease and associated infections is essential.
- The BioReset® Medical approach to Lyme disease typically involves significant testing. Practitioners may have patients fill out detailed questionnaires in order to get a comprehensive understanding of what they are experiencing. We often find that patients with Lyme disease are more susceptible to other immune issues such as mold and biofilms. This overlap is one of the reasons why our practitioners want to look at the whole picture of a patient’s health. We want to know if they have a history of joint pain, food allergies, neurological issues, viral infections, etc. This knowledge helps us determine the scope of their illness and determine the appropriate course of treatment. We have many methods for treatment that may include healing the gut, utilizing herbal antimicrobials, peptide therapy, as well as IV therapies.
Mold/Mycotoxins
- Mycotoxins are toxic compounds produced by mold, and chronic exposure to them can cause serious harm to your health. Although mold toxicity is believed to be very prevalent, it is significantly underdiagnosed because the symptoms of exposure are wide-ranging and diverse. Exposure can cause many issues within the body, such as fatigue, anxiety, digestive problems, respiratory issues, immune dysregulation, and neurological impairment. At BioReset® Medical, a practitioner will take a detailed history of your symptoms and conduct several tests to confirm whether mycotoxins are present. If they are, there are several protocols our practitioners may use to address their effects.
Autoimmune Diseases
- At BioReset® Medical, our approach to treating autoimmune disease involves an in-depth, personalized assessment of underlying immune and inflammatory triggers. In most cases of autoimmune disease that we work with, untreated infections, high levels of environmental toxins, and gastrointestinal inflammation are driving complex immune dysfunction. By identifying and treating these causes and decreasing your body’s inflammatory activity, we can cut off autoimmunity at its root and help you reclaim your health.
Long Covid
- BioReset® Medical has a significant experience we can draw from when addressing the symptoms of long-haul Covid. For years we have been managing the treatment of patients suffering from autoimmune diseases and complex illnesses. We have found that the majority of people who suffer from long-haul COVID usually have something else going on immunologically that the person may or may not be aware of. Often, we will find that COVID dysregulates the immune system and leads to a resurgence of other conditions that they may have previously been asymptomatic for, such as Lyme Disease, other chronic viral infections like Epstein Barr Virus, or mold/mycotoxin exposure.
- Through BioReset® Medical’s practice of taking the necessary amount of time to understand what a patient is experiencing, as well as ensuring that we have a comprehensive understanding of the patient’s complete picture, our practitioners can then create a plan that utilizes minimally invasive modalities to help alleviate a patient’s symptoms.
